For years, Risto Huvila, a businessman, public speaker and songwriter from Finland has been interested in Israel and her role in Biblical prophecy and history. One of the key themes in his research has been about Harry S. Truman – the accidental president – and his critical role in the founding of the State of Israel during the years 1945-1948. Risto has visited the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum in Independence (MO), USA and researched Mr. Truman’s life, career and presidency through various biographies and archives, including those of the president, the State Department and the UN.
Based on his research, Risto has prepared a lecture package President Truman and the Miracle of Israel 1948, which drills into events and their backgrounds during 1945-1948 in the White House, the UN and Palestine. Risto’s presentation highlights events related to the independence process within the Truman administration, and it also unfolds Mr. Truman’s personal life and developments that made him probably the most unlikely president ever.
Without knowledge of the biblical prophecies relating to Israel and the return of the Jewish people to their ancient homeland, and Harry Truman’s attitude to them, the president’s actions would have seemed just normal political maneuvers, but the story is one of the most important events in modern history which proves the reliability of the Bible and confirms the role of Israel in the plans of the Almighty.

Risto has lectured on various Israel-themes since 2006, and in 2016 he made a three-part lecture series Israel in prophecy and history for TV7 (Finland) which included an episode on President Truman. Three more episodes will be broadcast early 2017.
As the Channel Director of AlfaTV in 2014-2015, Risto initiated and produced a weekly program called Monitor with Rony Smolar, the legendary Middle-East correspondent of YLE, the Finnish Broadcasting Corporation, for 20 years, focusing on developments in Israel and the Middle-East. As the talk show host of AlfaStudio he interviewed many interesting guests with links to Israel, including Robert Singer, CEO of the World Jewish Congress, Dan Ashbel, Ambassador of Israel to Finland, Ms. Inna Rogatchi, the producer of The Lessons of Survival – a documentary about Simon Wiesenthal, and Kristof Forrai, Ambassador of Hungary, about the Hungarian holocaust.
Besides
Risto’s biblical and historical interest in Israel, the country also plays a
role in his business and work activities: since 2009 Risto has had active
connections to the Israeli business and technology scene, and he is also a
board member of the Finland-Israel Trade Association. Risto is also Vice-Chair of The League of the Finland-Israel Associations, and he coordinates the
Israel ministry in his church since 2009.From 1992 to 2006 Risto was the founder and president of CBMC Finland, a Christian business ministry, and he also served on the boards of CBMC International, Inc. and Europartners, whose chairman he was from 2004 to 2006.

In addition to Risto, the group consists of his wife Jaana, and Kristina Vakkilainen and Tarja Piirainen who all sing and Risto also plays the piano. The group released their first album in Finnish language Laulakaa uusi laulu (Sing a New Song) in October 2015 via Aikamedia, the leading Christian music publisher in Finland.
A growing number of Risto’s songs have already been translated into English, and in addition to Finland, the group has performed in Estonia, Sweden, Spain, Austria and Hungary, and is presently planning a visit to the west coast of Canada & USA (Vancouver & Seattle area) where they will perform during Easter 2017.
